The Autumn School on Topos and Applications was held at Wuhan University from 23 to 28 September 2025.

Prof. Olivia Caramello, Coordinator of the Centre for Topos Theory and its Applications (CTTA), gave a course during the school called “Introduction to the Theory of Relative Toposes”, where she described the new foundations for the theory of relative toposes developed by the Centre. This theory provides extremely powerful tools for analysing toposes in a dynamic and flexible way, allowing the modelling of a wide variety of complex phenomena, articulated on multiple levels of structure and interaction.

The programme also saw the participation of Laurent Lafforgue, esteemed member of the Institute’s Scientific Council, and Bruno Drieux and Gabriel Merlin, fellows of the Institute.

The school, promoted by the Sino-French Centre for Mathematics, provided a unique opportunity for intellectual exchange between experts and young researchers, catalysing a vibrant dialogue on topos theory and its fascinating interdisciplinary applications.
