The book “Les Années cachées”, enriched by a preface by our esteemed Scientific Council member Alain Connes, together with Patrick Gauthier-Lafaye, has recently been published by Éditions Odile Jacob.

Alexis de Tournemire, a student at the Sorbonne University in Paris, has successfully completed a research internship in topos theory at the Centre for Topos Theory and its Applications (CTTA) under the supervision of Prof. Olivia Caramello.
A collage artwork with a manuscript of Grothendieck
The Institute received a very special gift from artist Dominique Lepetz, a former student of Alexander Grothendieck at the University of Montpellier: a collage featuring an original manuscript by Grothendieck at its centre, surrounded by fragments of mathematical texts by Alain Connes, Laurent Lafforgue and Olivia Caramello.
Alexander Grothendieck has been the central figure in a special episode of “La Terre au carré” on France Inter, conducted by Mathieu Vidard with the participation of the science historian and environmental sociologist Céline Pessis.
The distinguished mathematician Alain Connes, member of the Scientific Council of the Grothendieck Institute and co-author of the preface to the recent volume “Les Années cachées” – which collects Alexander Grothendieck’s unpublished correspondence with Christian Escriva – has been the guest on the radio programme “La Conversation scientifique”, hosted by Étienne Klein on France Culture.
