Two new doctoral scholars in topos theory

Raffaele Lamagna and Gabriel Merlin, who respectively received their Master degrees in Mathematics from the University of Pavia and IUSS and the University of Paris Sorbonne, have been awarded doctoral studentships of the Grothendieck Institute as part of the project “Topos theory and its applications” led by Prof. Olivia Caramello. Thanks to an agreement with two doctoral schools of the University of Paris-Saclay, institution to which Prof. Caramello is affiliated, they were able to start their Ph.D. in Mathematics at this University in October 2023, under the joint supervision of Prof. Caramello and Prof. Marc Aiguier. Thanks to a mobility grant from the Institute, they will also be able to carry out their research activities at other international locations.
