Toposes: a new era for AI

The President of the Grothendieck Institute, Prof. Olivia Caramello, gave a talk for the general public in October 2024 at the Mairie de Clichy (France), entitled “Toposes as ‘bridges’ for mathematics and artificial intelligence”.

In the talk, Caramello provided a conceptual introduction to the theory of relative toposes, currently developed by the Centre for Topos Theory and its Applications, and illustrated its relevance for the creation of new forms of artificial learning that emulate the distinctive features of natural intelligence.
