Alexis de Tournemire, a student at the Sorbonne University in Paris, has successfully completed a research internship in topos theory at the Centre for Topos Theory and its Applications (CTTA) under the supervision of Prof. Olivia Caramello. His work, partly developed in collaboration with Elsa Lubek (École Polytechnique), has consisted in a topos-theoretic study of the relationship between plane geometry and field theory. They have shown that the usual equivalence given by cartesian coordinates carries over to an arbitrary topos and yields topos-theoretic ‘bridges’ between the two theories.
